Our patients will testify that dental implants have been life-changing! The implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth which look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The patient regains the ability to eat and smile with confidence, knowing that teeth look as natural as possible, and that facial structure will be preserved.
Most implants are placed in less than an hour with only local anesthetic, like a filling. The actual implants are tiny titanium posts which are inserted into the jawbone, serving as metal anchors. These ‘anchors’ are like substitutes for the tooth’s natural root. They are surgically placed into the jaw bone. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Small posts are then attached to the implant which protrude through the gums. The artificial teeth are then attached. Most patients experience minimal discomfort easily controlled with Ibuprofen or Tylenol.
